The Country Representative of Best Diplomats in Nigeria, Miss Gloria Onahi Uko, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens, particularly young people, to remain hopeful and committed to building a better Nigeria.

Uko, in a message to mark the anniversary, also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey as a nation and the responsibility of citizens to contribute to its progress.

She paid special tribute to Nigerian youths for what she described as their resilience, creativity and ability to keep pushing forward despite the economic and social challenges confronting the country.

According to her, young Nigerians have continued to distinguish themselves in areas such as technology, entrepreneurship, education, entertainment, diplomacy and other fields, both within Nigeria and on the international stage.

Uko said the resilience of the youths should be matched with access to the right opportunities, skills and platforms capable of preparing them for the responsibilities ahead.

She said her appointment as Country Representative of Best Diplomats in Nigeria would provide an avenue to contribute to that objective.

“I intend to use this office to create and support opportunities that can help our young people grow, develop themselves and prepare for leadership,” she said.

Uko explained that her focus would include promoting exposure to diplomacy, leadership, negotiation, international relations and personal development, while connecting Nigerian youths with relevant opportunities beyond the country.

She stressed that leadership development should not be left until young people occupy public office, noting that the preparation for responsible leadership must begin early.

The Best Diplomats representative also encouraged Nigerian youths not to allow present difficulties to define their ambitions.

She said: “Our young people must continue to believe in themselves. There are challenges, but there are also opportunities. What matters is our willingness to learn, develop ourselves and make the most of the opportunities available to us.”

Uko called for greater unity and a shared sense of responsibility among Nigerians, saying the task of building the country could not be left to government alone.

She wished President Tinubu, the government and people of Nigeria a peaceful and meaningful Independence celebration, while expressing optimism about the country’s future.

“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary to Nigeria and to every Nigerian at home and abroad. May our nation continue to grow in peace, strength and prosperity”, she concluded.
