The Senator Representing Rivers West Senatorial District, Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Nigerian girls on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated globally on Saturday, October 11, 2025. With the Theme: “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crises.”
Senator Banigo, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Women Affairs, described the day as an important reminder of the strength, resilience, and potential of young women and girls across Nigeria.
She commended Nigerian girls, particularly those from the Rivers West Senatorial District, for their unwavering determination, hard work, and the positive spirit they continue to exhibit both at home and abroad. According to her, their courage and creativity represent the true Nigerian spirit that inspires hope for a brighter future.
