Ado Local Government Area and Ebonyi State have forged a collaborative partnership to construct vital link roads between Benue State and Ebonyi State.
In a statement signed by Samson Otokpa, Chief Press Secretary to Ado Local Government Council asserted that the
grading and rehabilitation of the link roads between the two states is through the Ohagelode, Ugboenyim, Ndumbam, Nduidenyi, and Onuebor Villages through the Ijigban axis of Ado Local Government.
The initiative was contained in a letter of consent addressed to the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Oche Sunday Oche by Sen. Onyeka Peter Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District and Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate. Engr. Sunny Oche has given his consent since the idea aligns with his plans to open up the Local Government with an inter-state route that was only available by rail.
The project aims to enhance connectivity, boost trade, and improve access to essential services for residents of the two states. The construction of these link roads when completed is expected to facilitate smoother transportation of agricultural produce to more urbanized areas in either Benue or Ebonyi
States, reduce travel time and promote local businesses, ultimately contributing to the overall prosperity of the communities involved.
Hon. Oche Sunday Oche while receiving the letter of consent from Senator Nwebonyi noted that this collaboration was borne out of the robust discussion and solidarity between him, and the amiable Senator. He stated that this synergy shows the spirit of the network between the two leaders towards sustainable development in the region.
The Ado people are thankful to Hon. Engr. Oche and Senator Nwebonyi for this lofty initiative that will foster social and economic cooperation between Benue State and Ebonyi State.
They expressed satisfaction with the Chairman’s excellent and robust leadership in bringing development down to the most remote regions of the local government area just as he would be opening up the local government to more patronage of the numerous natural resources and agro-raw materials available in Ado Local Government.
