Rivers NDC Primary: Blessing Fubara Urges Supporters to Remain Calm

Rivers State governorship aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ambassador Blessing Fubara, has appealed to his supporters and party faithful to remain calm and patient as the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conclude the collation and verification of results from the recently concluded governorship primaries in the state.

In an official statement issued on Sunday, Fubara expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm demonstrated by his supporters throughout the primary election process, describing their commitment as the driving force behind his vision for service, unity, and progress in Rivers State.

The governorship hopeful urged party members, stakeholders, and residents of the state to avoid actions capable of disrupting peace while awaiting the official outcome of the exercise.

“I therefore call on all my supporters, party faithful, stakeholders, and the good people of Rivers State to remain calm, peaceful, and positive as the NDC National Secretariat and INEC complete the collation and verification of results,” he stated.

Fubara emphasized that no official declaration had been made by either the NDC or INEC, cautioning supporters against relying on unverified reports and rumours circulating on social media and other platforms.

According to him, the primary election was conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act, stressing the need to allow due process to run its full course.

He reaffirmed his confidence in the integrity of the party and expressed optimism that the final outcome would reflect the wishes of the delegates who participated in the exercise.

The aspirant also urged his supporters to maintain decorum, avoid provocation, and refrain from spreading unconfirmed information, noting that unity remains the strongest asset of the movement.

Fubara reiterated his commitment to the ideals of the NDC, including service, transparency, and good governance, while assuring supporters that the political journey toward a better Rivers State remains on course.

“The journey continues, and victory for Rivers people is certain,” he declared.

The NDC is yet to officially announce the outcome of its Rivers State governorship primary election.
