Pastor Bowale Ikotun, Resident Pastor of the Elevation Church Abuja, has urged the Federal government to establish more primary health care centers to strengthen its policies in various communities, enabling them to attend to health emergencies promptly.
He made this call on Saturday during a free medical outreach organized by the Elevation Church Abuja and PISTIS Foundation, known as the UBOMI Project Abuja, held at Jabi Lake Park Abuja.
Pastor Ikotun stated that the purpose of organizing the outreach is to meet the community’s needs and provide residents with free medical services.
“We are all aware of the current healthcare challenges in Nigeria, where the cost of even primary health care has become unaffordable for the common man. As a church, it is our mission to bless our community.”

“One significant way we fulfill this mission is by mobilizing doctors, nurses, and volunteers to offer free medical consultations, particularly in primary health care.”
He further urged other religious and non-governmental organizations to organize similar outreaches that contribute to community well-being and support government efforts.
“The reality is that the government cannot do everything alone, which is why we, as a church, step in to assist in any way we can.”
Davidson Amedu, Head of Partnerships for the UBOMI Project Abuja, highlighted that the Elevation Church Abuja demonstrates God’s love through the UBOMI Project.
“We collaborate with the Pistis Foundation, a registered organization under the Elevation Church, to provide medical solutions to those in need.”

“Understanding the healthcare challenges across the country, where many cannot afford medical care and experts are in short supply, especially for the underserved and underprivileged, we established this project to bridge these gaps.”
“We offer free medical services including diagnosis, counseling, consultations, and pharmaceutical supplies, as our way of showing God’s love and promoting holistic health.”
“We pray for healing and believe in divine health, but we also recognize the role of medicine in improving health outcomes.”
Amedu also announced that while this is the first UBOMI Project in Abuja, more editions are planned for the future to address ongoing healthcare needs.

“The Elevation Church has successfully held multiple UBOMI Project editions in Lagos, providing for thousands of people, including surgeries and major operations. This Abuja edition marks our commitment to expand our impact across Nigeria and beyond.”
Leonard F-Thomas, Executive Director of the Pistis Foundation, described UBOMI Project as bringing hospital-level care directly to communities through a team of medical experts and volunteers from various parts of Nigeria.
He emphasized the project’s structured approach to collaborating with social and governmental organizations, gathering data for advocacy and preventive healthcare measures.
“The data we collect helps us identify prevalent health issues like malaria and diabetes in communities, enabling us to tailor effective solutions during our outreaches.”
“We are here to complement existing government efforts in addressing societal health challenges.”
