SGF Thanksgiving Service: Byuan Calls for Unity, Condemns Political Hate Speech in Churches

Executive Director, Housing, Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority, Dr Mathias Byuan, has charged Christians to eschew political violence in the church but rather emulate the spirit of Christ as well keep faith with God as He continues to bless the State with more appointment of Benue sons and daughters through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

Dr. Byuan who was the Chief Launcher at the occasion, disclosed this during a special thanksgiving service in honor of the SGF and fundraising for the roofing of NKST Consistory Daudu.

Dr. Byuan while urging the church and party faithful to disassociate themselves from hate speech and political violence, wondered why some politicians have used political gatherings and the church to campaign ill amongst one another when the era of political campaigns was over.
Dr Byuan also called on the leader of the church to condemn the invasion of churches by people in government in their bid to stop the people from worshiping God which has become a trend in Benue State.

He promised to maintain his support for the church and APC party; tasking them to always pray for the SGF and President Tinubled government to succeed.

Preaching on the theme: “leaving a Mark”, Rev. J.T. Aernyi charged Christians to always leave behind good marks in every circumstance of their life.

Rev. Aernyi cited the scriptures in the Bible, referring to the story of Jacob and Laban through which God blessed Laban; stating that the story of Senator Akume and Benue State was a similar case where he has left behind indelible marks which have impacted the lives of many Benue indigenes.

The thanksgiving service was attended by top government officials which included; Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Terlumun Utsev; Senators Titus Zand am, Emmanuel Udende; Executive Secretary/CEO Nigerian Shippers Council, Barrister Pius Akuta; Hon. Mrs. Becky Orpin, Chief Mike Aondoakaa, Ambassador Terhemen Tarzôr, Professor Terhemba Shija and many others.
