The lawmaker representing Rivers East Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs, Distinguished Senator (Chief) Allwell Heacho Onyesoh, DSSRS, JP, has unequivocally refuted the spurious claims leveled against him by nefarious actors seeking political advantage from the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara.

Addressing the recent accusations which falsely alleged his intention to align with Governor Fubara against his Predecessor His Excellency Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

Senator Onyesoh, in a press statement signed by his Special Adviser on Publicity and Communications Peter Oriri, emphatically denounces the insidious insinuations as nothing more than a product of political machinations amidst the ongoing political crisis in the Rivers State.

It is imperative to clarify that Senator Onyesoh, on the 5th of May, 2024; embarked on a diplomatic trip to the United States of America to participate in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), which concluded on the 9th May, 2024. His attendance was crucial as part of his national duty aimed at bolstering the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry and the Energy Sector.

While in the United States, Senator Onyesoh, a stalwart advocate for his Senatorial District, graciously received the Apex of Etche Social-Cultural Leadership Worldwide, the Etche American Foundation which includes the President, Mr. Samuel Nwankwoala, Vice President Mr. Chukwunonye Okere and Chief Ambrose Igbokwe Nwuzi who surprisingly was in their midst, the leader of Governor Sim Fubara’s political group in Etche L.G.A amongst others. The programme, devoid of any political connotations, was aimed to foster development and enhance the welfare of the people of Etche, Rivers East and the entire Rivers State.

Senator Onyesoh used the opportunity to reiterate his gratitude to the FCT Minister, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike for his sacrificial role throughout his electoral processes and emphasized his unalloyed, unwavering and steadfast loyalty to his political leader, thereby rejecting any insinuation of ingratitude, regardless of the prevailing circumstances going on in Rivers State.

As a dedicated servant, the People’s parliamentarian remains resolute in his commitment to advancing the interests and welfare of his senatorial district at all times, urges those intending to malign his relationship with his leader, the FCT Minister Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike to steer clear of the murky waters of political opportunism.
