The Concerned APC Members (CAM), has vehemently denounced the purported suspension of the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by impostors allegedly affiliated with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The group in a press briefing held in Abuja on Tuesday expressed shock and dismay at the news of Dr. Ganduje’s suspension, noting that the individuals behind this action masqueraded as members of the APC from Ganduje Ward, of Kano State.

According to CAM, the impostors went as far as using the name of the Party’s legal adviser in Ganduje ward to announce the suspension, despite lacking the authority to do so. This move, they claim, stems from the intentions of the Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso-led faction of the NNPP, which reportedly seeks to rejoin the APC but opposes Dr. Ganduje’s leadership.

The group further alleged that Mr. Kwankwaso and his allies, including Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf and Buba Galadima, are orchestrating efforts to remove Dr. Ganduje as the National Chairman. However, the North Central APC elders, led by former Senate President Sen. Ameh Ebute CON, have expressed confidence in Dr. Ganduje’s leadership based on his performance.

Furthermore, thr concerned APC members accused the impostors of attempting to mislead the public and destabilize the party by impersonating members of the Ganduje Ward exco. They emphasized that the ward exco remains intact and has distanced themselves from the alleged suspension.

The group raised concerns about the threat posed to democracy by what they described as an emerging terrorist organization, the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

They called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the impostors, urging law enforcement agencies such as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Department of State Security Services (DSS) to take action by arresting all those involved in the alleged suspension to deter similar acts in the future.

The warned that failure to address the issue promptly could set a dangerous precedent, allowing members of other parties such as the PDP and the Labour Party to similarly target APC leaders. They emphasized the need to uphold the rule of law and protect the integrity of the party.
