As consultations intensify ahead of the emergence of a new Chairman for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, stakeholders have continued to advance arguments in support of Barrister Omale Matthew Omale, citing his loyalty, administrative experience, and longstanding commitment to the party.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Owoicho Amedu, Coordinator of the Zone C Progressive Front, said Barr. Omale possesses the qualities required to reposition the party for greater success.
According to Owoicho, if loyalty, steadfastness, unity, administrative competence, and broad political experience are the key criteria for selecting the next state chairman, Barr. Omale stands out as a leading contender.
A founding member of the APC in Benue State, Barr. Omale previously served as the State Legal Adviser of the party, where he was widely regarded as diligent and principled. His tenure, party members say, was marked by an unblemished record and a strong commitment to internal cohesion.
He later served as Commissioner for Transportation and Energy Resources in Benue State, a position in which he was credited with laying strategic foundations aimed at improving the state’s transportation and energy sectors.
Owoicho further emphasized the importance of zoning and inclusivity within the party structure. In the political configuration of Benue South (Zone C), Apa/Agatu remains one of the constituencies yet to produce a state party chairman. He argued that zoning the position to the area would promote fairness, balance, and strengthen unity within the party.
He also maintained that, for political equilibrium, it would be expedient to consider a zone that does not already occupy key executive positions in the state.
Describing Barr. Omale as a unifier who understands party dynamics, Owoicho expressed confidence in his ability to consolidate the party’s structure ahead of future elections. As a supporter of the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, Barr. Omale is seen by his supporters as well positioned to mobilize grassroots backing and work towards party victories in 2027.
Owoicho added that youths, elites, and other key stakeholders across Zone C and beyond have expressed comfort and confidence in Barr. Omale’s leadership capacity to steer the affairs of the APC in Benue State.
