As preparations gear up for the 10th anniversary of the prestigious African Icon Awards, the organizers have officially opened nominations for the 2025 edition. The landmark event is scheduled to take place on July 26, 2025 at Colonnade Hall, Nicon luxury Abuja, Nigeria and promises a memorable celebration of excellence across Africa.
According to the Director of Projects, Ambassador Abraham Lawal, this year’s event will not only highlight outstanding achievements in various sectors but will also feature a grand dinner night and other exciting activities. Nominations for the awards will close on May 10, 2025.
The 2025 award categories span a wide range of fields, reflecting the diversity and impact of African changemakers. Some of the categories include:
1. Young Entrepreneurial Icon of the Year
2. Business Personality of the Year – Award of Excellence in Business
3. Leadership and Women Development
4. Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year
5. Entertainment Humanitarian of the Year
6. Award of Excellence in Leadership and Humanitarian Service
7. Global Youth Ambassador of the Year
8. Most Supportive Philanthropist of the Year
9. Award of Excellence in Youth Initiative
10. Youth Icon of the Year
11. Entrepreneurial Icon of the Year
12. Icon Woman of the Year
13. Icon Man of the Year
14. Icon Youth Ambassador of the Year
15. Entertainment Icon of the Year
16. Young Global Changemaker of the Year
17. Healthcare Hero of the Year
18. Education Innovator of the Year
19. Technology Pioneer of the Year (Emerging)
20. CEO of the Year
21. Most Creative Woman of the Year
22. Agent of Positive Change in Africa
23. Real Estate Personality of the Year
24. Young Achiever of the Year
25. African Fast-Growing Entrepreneur of the Year

In his statement, Amb. Lawal also extended his warm greetings to Nigerian workers in commemoration of International Workers’ Day, and wished all citizens a happy and prosperous new month.
