In a solemn ceremony held on February 15, 2025, family, friends, and community members gathered to commemorate the one-year remembrance of the late Pa Pius Ogaba Oche. The event took place at his family home in New Jerusalem, Apa-Agila, where Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Minority Leader of the Senate, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, the first son of the deceased and Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission Nigeria, Prince James Oche, alongside other dignitaries, laid wreaths in honour of the beloved patriarch.

Late Pa Pius Oche was a great and respected leader, known for his dedication to Apa community development and philanthropy, left an indelible mark on the lives of many in Agila land and beyond. His legacy of kindness and service continues to inspire those who knew him.

During the remembrance ceremony, Senator Moro, Prince James Oche, others delivered a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on Pa Pius’s contributions to Apa-Agila community and the values he instilled in others and his family.

Highlights of the event was the laying of wreaths at the utramodern mausoleum of Pa Pius Ogaba Oche at New Jerusalem, Apa-Agila, dignitaries shared stories and memories of Pa Pius Oche, celebrating a life well-lived.

Mausoleum in Agila culture is of great significance, it serves as a sacred space that honours the king, those who contested for kingship or it’s offsprings and reflects the community’s values. Late Pa Pius Ogaba Oche Mausoleum is not merely tomb; it embody the collective memory and identity of the great Otse’Offu and his legacies. This tomb will act as a bridge between the living and the dead.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace and unity in Ado and Idomaland, reinforcing the community’s commitment to uphold the values that Pa Pius championed throughout his life.
