Bishop Emeritus Prays for PCC Boss, Pledges Synergy Between ECJP and PCC

The Retired Bishop of Makurdi Diocese of the Anglican Communion Church of Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Dr. Nathan Inyom, has prayed for blessings and divine wisdom on the person of James Ogaba Oche, the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission in Benue State, in order for him to contain the challenging task of promoting justice for the people of Benue State.

In a preas release issued by the Head of Publicity of the Benue State Office of the Public Complaints Commission Mr. Orhemba Akura Charles, the Bishop Emeritus has similarly pledged unalloyed cooperation and synergy between the Commission and his Non Governmental Organization, the Ecumenical Centre for Justice and Peace (ECJP).

Speaking in Makurdi days ago when he visited the Public Complaints Commission, Bishop Nyom explained the need for collaboration between the agencies as arising from the NGO’s principles, which he said are similar to those of the Commission. He highlighted the NGO’s principles to include, the promotion of peace, security, coexistence, and accountability in governance, as well as development, all of which are reflected in the NGO’s vision, mission statement and objectives.

In response, Hon. Oche acknowledged the similarities in the principles of the two agencies and promised that the Commission would collaborate with the Agency on their shared objectives aimed at fostering a stable political environment and advancing the cause of an egalitarian society.

Mr. Oche equally appreciated the efforts and commitment of the bishop in successfully pastoring the church of God under his watch for many decades and wished him a happy retirement.

Also speaking, Mr. Paul Ape, the Consultant for ECJP, expressed hope that the synergy would be sustained and same would yield positive results.

High points of the visit, were the presentation of a Bible to the Commissioner by Bishop Nyom, who, in turn, provided the Bishop with literature booklets about the Commission.

Accompanying Rt. Rev. Dr. N. N. Inyom were Mr. Paul Ape, the Consultant of ECJP and Akaahule Monica Mwuese, the Administrative Secretary of ECJP.
