Senate Warns Against Recruitment Irregularities in Government Agencies, Meets with NILEST DG/CEO

In his quest to address illegal recruitment processes in government institutions, parastatals, and agencies, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Distinguished Senator (Chief) Allwell Onyesoh, DSSRS, JP, FIBAKM, (Rivers East) met with Prof. M.K. Yakubu, the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology, Samaru, Zaria, Kaduna State, to review their staffing system and efforts in upholding Federal Character principles within their institution.

Prof. Yakubu was accompanied by his Director of Administration Services/Registrar, Ferdinand Nwachukwu Orji.

Prof. Yakubu, who promptly responded to the committee’s invitation, highlighted the institution’s efforts in upholding Federal Character principles, acknowledging it as a constitutional mandate to ensure inclusivity among the six geo-political zones of the country.

Senator Onyesoh urged the institute to consistently adhere to these regulations and advised defaulting agencies to rectify any irregularities, as such deviations would not be tolerated by the senate.
