Enone Patriots, a political group, has asked Rt Hon Agom Anthony, the Member representing Okpokwu Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, to contest for the 2027 House of Representatives election for Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency.
In a press conference, the group said the Chairman Public Account Committee’s “political credentials” qualifies him for the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.
The leader of the group Hon Peter Otse stated that; Hon. Agom has exemplary track records in the Benue State House of Assembly as a Right Honourable with two terms, and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of Okpokwu Constituency and today represents a handshake across Enone axis.
He appreciated Rt. Hon Agom dedication to addressing local issues, from education to healthcare, making him the ideal candidate to represent the federal constituency.
The group also asked the leadership and members of the PDP to rally support for the Giveback Lawmaker Agom whenever he officially declares interest in the 2027 race.
“We are calling on him to contest in 2027 because we know that zoning favours Okpoga and Rt. Agom is from Okpoga, he has the capacity to consolidate on the gains of his predecessors.
“Let us emphasize that there’s a pressing need for strong leadership in the House of Representatives at the moment, particularly in light of the challenges facing the largest federal constituency in Benue State. Issues such as economic development, infrastructure improvement, unemployment, social justice and strained political relationship in the zone.
“We belief that Agom possesses the vision and experience necessary to advocate effectively for these critical matters at the National Level and the state.
“We are resolute and willing to mobilize supporters for his victory and ready to buy the nomination forms for him when time comes to take this pivotal step, believing that his leadership can usher in a new era of progress and representation for Enone masses, they added.”
