The Benue State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), James Oche has assured that, the essence of the commission will be driven with passion across the state. Oche has also assured that staff welfare which tops the priority list of the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Commission, the Rt. Hon. Bashir Abubakar will receive adequate attention under his leadership.
In a press release issued by Orhemba, Akura Charles, the Deputy Director, Information of the Commission, Oche stated this on Wednesday 2nd November, 2024 during his address when he assumed office at the commission’s state office in Makurdi. Oche was received and conducted round the office facility by the staff, led by the Director of Investigation Mrs. Justin-Chuwang Nankyer Irene who expressed delight over his nomination and consequent appointment.
Mr. Oche who implored the staff of the commission to work assiduously to achieve the set goals of the commission, expressed optimism that the Benue State Office of the Public Complaints Commission will be reckoned among the best in achievements and profile under his watch.
Earlier in his address, the former two term Executive and former two term Caretaker Chairman of Ado Local Government thanked God for the grace upon his life and appreciated the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly and the government and people of Benue State for the privilege to serve, promising to live above the expectations of his office. He particularly appreciated Sen. Comr. Abba Moro (Ph.D) for his undeterred commitment to ensuring his appointment.
Mr. Oche reiterated the aims and objectives of the Commission which among others was to promote social justice for individual citizens and to provide a viable option for Nigerians or anyone resident in Nigeria seeking redress against injustice arising from or connected with administrative bureaucratic errors, omission or abuse by officials of government, or limited liability companies in Nigeria. He also said he was committed to the Commission’s function to provide impartial investigation on behalf of complainants who feel aggrieved by the action or inaction of government and private institutions and individuals.
Mr. Oche intimated the gathering of the readiness of the Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Commission, the Rt. Hon. Bashir Abubakar who, given his track record of impeccable achievements was ready to take the commission to the promised land, reassuring them of due consideration for staff welfare.
Reacting on behalf of staff of the commission in separate but similar remarks, the Deputy Director Investigation, Mr. Kpaakpa Terkura and the Principal Information Officer Icheme John Ode expressed happiness over Mr. Oche’s appointment and inauguration, assuring that, the staff who were pleased with his track record of administrative achievements, were more than ever ready willing to work with him to advance the commission.
