The organizers of the African Icon Awards have honored Afrobeats star Wini Lizbet with the title of ‘Youth Ambassador of the Year’ at the event’s 9th edition, held at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja on Friday.
The African Icon Awards is an annual event dedicated to encouraging, appreciating, and honoring young and talented Africans who have excelled in various fields.
During his opening remarks, Project Director Ambassador Abraham Lawal emphasized the organization’s mission to recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to Africa’s advancement and development over the years.
The awards celebrate men and women from across the continent who demonstrate exceptional patriotism, excellence, leadership skills, and talents in areas such as civil governance, the entertainment industry, technology, among others.
Wini Lizbet, an award-winning musician based in London was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the African music scene.
Mrs. Doris Azonobi presented the award to Peter Oriri on behalf of Wini Lizbet, who is currently advancing her career in the United Kingdom. Oriri expressed gratitude to the organizers for honoring Lizbet, noting that this recognition would inspire her to continue contributing to African youth.
Other notable awardees included Amb. Badamasi Sadiq Ibrahim, DG of Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative; Mr. Izzul-Arab Garba Ibrahim, President of Gee-lec International Football Academy of Jos; Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, MD/CEO of Reapfold Properties Ltd; Amb. Ayomikun Adebayo, CEO of Fab Realty and Tourism Ltd; Cwesi Oteng Desmond, CEO of COD Construction & Engineering; Flemming Rontved, CEO of Face of Domak; and Hajiya Aisha Lami Abdulsalam, CEO of Avada Couture Academy, Abuja, among several others from across Africa.
